Whilst we are always happy to talk you through the process, we thought it might be useful to outline the steps to get a stairlift. We have also developed a series of frequently asked questions for stairlifts, however, if you have a question and cannot find the information you need on our website please feel free to call us.

Stairlift Installation Guide

Step 1
The early stages of getting a stairlift usually involve gathering information about your potential purchase and installation. You may choose to do some research online, however, please bear in mind that this will be general information that is not specific, or tailored to your needs. At Essington Mobility we will take the time to ask the right questions to identify the best solution for you. We pride ourselves on providing friendly personal service and straightforward advice, and we have many years of experience helping customers with stairlifts.

At this point you may want to get an idea of the costs involved with purchasing, installing and running a stairlift. We will be happy to provide you with a guide price for a stairlift based on the information you have given us.

Step 2
If the guide price is agreeable and you wish to proceed, we will arrange to visit your property to complete a stairlift survey. This is carried out before you complete your purchase and it is to inspect and assess the staircase to ensure the stairlift you are considering is safe and appropriate for your staircase. We will discuss the installation process, and how this will affect your home decor. We will take measurements and we will confirm the costs.

Step 3
If you wish to proceed and order a stairlift from Essington Mobility we will ask for a 50% payment at the point of order, with the balance payable on satisfactory installation.

Step 4
When your stairlift arrives in stock we will contact you to arrange an appointment for one of our experienced stairlift installers to come and install your stairlift.

Step 5
The engineer will arrive with the stairlift and all necessary equipment and tools to complete the installation. The stairlift installation will be completed on the same day, tested thoroughly and our installer will show you how to use it and explain the controls.  Straight stairlifts generally take 1-2 hours to install, and curved stairlifts take approximately 3-4 hours.

Before leaving, they will advise you on warranty, aftercare, and service arrangements. For information, all stairlifts supplied and installed by Essington Mobility, new or used, are covered by a minimum 12-month warranty.

We promise to treat you and your property with respect at all times – cleaning up any mess made during the installation and removing any rubbish such as product packaging, if required.

Step 6
Follow installation a member of the Essington Mobility Team will contact you to check everything is okay, answer any questions you may have, and provide any support required.
Final payment is collected for the stairlift installation.
