The frequency of servicing will depend on use, though annual servicing is a good idea. Like most things, regular servicing gives you the best chance of trouble free use.

A routine service for a Mobility Scooter varies in cost from £65 for most small transportable scooters, to £145 for larger models. Once we know the make and model of your scooter we can give you a cost.

The lifespan of your mobility scooter batteries will depend on several factors. The key thing is to charge them regularly and keep them charged. We produce a leaflet with advice on getting the best out of your scooter batteries. Call in for a copy.

Most of our service work is carried out at our workshop in Leamore, Walsall. We can service and repair the makes of scooters we sell, with priority given to our customers, though we try to help anybody who has a problem. We have spare parts available for many leading mobility scooter brands, though, for some imported scooter brands, which are sold cheaply on the internet, there is unfortunately no after-sales support available.

We rarely service mobility scooters at the customer’s home. By carrying out service work in our workshop we can be much more thorough.

We sometimes get called out to customers’ homes to replace batteries, which we can do by appointment. Once we know the size of batteries required we can quote for call out, supply and fit.

Regular servicing of your rise and recline chair gives you the best chance of trouble-free use. Generally, an annual service is common, however the frequency of servicing will depend on use.

Yes, we do repair riser recliner chairs. Repairs will take place in your home. We give priority to our customers for servicing and repairs as we have spare part availability and support for the recliner chair brands we sell.

If you did not purchase your riser recliner chair from us we may still be able to help. We have many contacts in the Mobility Industry locally and if we can’t help, we probably know someone who can.

Essington Mobility have our own engineers to maintain and repair the stairlifts we sell, though if you have a stairlift which is a make and model we don’t support, we may be able to help with our contacts for reliable companies and mobility engineers.

We will always try our best to help, subject to spares availability and support. We have many contacts in the Mobility Industry locally and if we can't help we probably know someone who can.

We give priority to our customers for servicing and repairs as we have spares availability and support for the stairlift brands we sell.

We only service Brooks and Acorn Straight Stairlifts but have many contacts in the mobility trade that can help customers with other brands of stair lift.

Dependent on location a service for a straight stairlift costs between £105 and £145. Any parts required are charged extra.

If your stairlift breaks down please contact Essington Mobility. We have own own engineers to maintain the stairlifts we sell. For stairlift makes and models we don't support we can help put you in touch with reliable mobility engineers.

We employ our own service engineer to perform servicing and repairs for the mobility equipment we sell. Our workshop is in Leamore, Walsall and all our staff are trained and experienced.

We can sometimes service and repair equipment purchased elsewhere, though we only deal with reputable manufacturing brands that provide a reliable aftersales parts service. Call us for more information.

Our service department repairs Mobility Scooters, Electric Wheelchairs, Riser Recliner Chairs, Stairlifts, Wheelchairs and Walking Aids. Our workshop is well-equipped and we guarantee our work for 30 days.

All of the mobility scooters we supply are covered by a 12 month manufacturers warranty. The warranty guards against faulty manufacture or materials. It doesn’t cover accidental damage or damage caused by misuse, or wear and tear.

For Mobility Scooters, Wheelchairs and Walking Aids we carry out routine servicing at our Leamore Walsall Workshop.
Our fully equipped workshop means we have the necessary testing equipment at hand. We sometimes need specialist tools which are not be available if we were to carry out servicing at your home.

For Stairlifts and Rise & Recline Chairs, we do provide in-home service and repairs. Subject to parts requirements, we try hard to solve problems on our first visit.

There's no real need for maintenance between services, but like most things you buy, if you take good care of your mobility scooter, you’re most likely to get trouble-free use. Ride carefully, and avoid obstructions, potholes and large kerbs. Store your scooter in a damp-free environment. Charge the batteries regularly and keep them fully charged.

Please be aware that a routine service is just that when the equipment is functioning correctly with no faults. A service can be booked through our Leamore shop.

If a fault-finding investigation and repair is required, we would need as much information from the user as possible.

We repair and service both manual and electric wheelchairs at our workshop at Essington Mobility in Leamore, Walsall. We have parts available for many leading UK based distributors, but not all. Please call us to discuss your needs and book a wheelchair repair or service.

Electric wheelchair servicing starts from £45 Manual wheelchair servicing starts from £30. Routine servicing includes lubrication and checking and tightening nuts bolts and hinges as well as making adjustment to parking brakes. Any parts required will be quoted for and charged extra. Like most things in life, regular servicing can help to prolong the working life of your mobility equipment. Frequency of servicing is a personal choice but wear and tear can take its toll on most things so some people like to have equipment serviced every 12 months. We'd say the more you use something the more important it will be to carry out regular servicing.
