A Standard Rise and Recline Chair is a chair which is generally manufactured in three standard sizes, small, medium and large. A mobility expert will help you choose which size closest fits your measurements. A standard size rise and recliner chair is cheaper than a made-to-measure chair and is often available from stock or ordered in with a short or reasonably short delivery lead time.

Made-to-measure rise and recline chairs are made to your exact measurements. A made to measure rise and recline chair often costs more than a standard size chair and takes longer to be delivered because it is made to order using your measurements.

  • Rise and recline chairs have many benefits including comfort when sitting, improved posture pressure relief, and help with circulation.
  • Having a chair that provides the right support can also help with back pain, pain caused by arthritis and the discomfort of stiff, swollen or aching joints.
  • Rise and recline chairs help maintain independence and mobility.
  • Using the ‘rise’ function your rise and recliner chair will help you to get to a standing position in a safe and controlled way, without putting stress on your joints. It will also gently lower you back into a seated position.

A rise and recliner chair helps you sit comfortably and provides support.
Most chairs allow you to elevate your feet, fully recline, and rise to a standing position.

A single motor rise and recline chair has one motor which controls the back and footrest at the same time. Single motor chairs are cheaper than dual motor chairs and the controls are simpler, however they do have limitations in term of functionality, movement options and position

A dual motor rise and recline chair uses two motors to power the back and the foot rest independently making it easier to find a comfortable position. A dual motor chair is usually more expensive.
